The Cocoa Beach Hotel Association’s partnership with The Children’s Hunger Project underscores the urgent need to address childhood hunger in Brevard County. According to the organization, more than 50% of children in the county are enrolled in the free and reduced-price meal program, with some elementary schools reporting participation rates as high as 80%. Many of these children face the daily risk of hunger and malnutrition.
Local hotels—including OPA Hampton, Courtyard, Days Inn, and Best Western—have stepped up to support this effort. By preparing and donating thousands of food boxes, these hotels have played an important role in helping ensure that local children have access to the nutrition they need.
This ongoing collaboration demonstrates how the hospitality industry can go beyond serving guests to serve the broader community, directly impacting the health and well-being of children across Brevard County.
