Thunder on Cocoa Beach, one of Central Florida’s biggest offshore powerboat racing events, is back for its 16th year! Mark your calendars for May 15–18, 2025 and get ready for four days and nights filled with racing, parties, concerts, and VIP events on Florida’s Space Coast.
Known as the Space Coast Super Boat Grand Prix, this family-friendly event draws the world’s top race teams, with Class 1 boats reaching speeds of over 175 mph. It’s one of the largest and most anticipated attractions in Central Florida, perfect for race fans of all ages.

About Thunder on Cocoa Beach:
Thunder on Cocoa Beach started over fourteen years ago when four longtime friends—Kerry, Mike, Rich, and Kevin—came together to create a fun-filled, family event for the Cocoa Beach community. Over the years, the race has grown in size, scope, and community impact.
Each year, Thunder on Cocoa Beach partners with a local charity. For the past few years, they’ve worked closely with I Am a Freedom Fighter. The event also emphasizes ecological responsibility, partnering with the Turtle Preservation Society to protect Cocoa Beach’s local sea turtle population and their habitat.
Today, Thunder on Cocoa Beach is proudly considered the premier offshore race event in Brevard County, thanks to the team’s commitment to the racers, the fans, and the local community.

This year, Thunder on Cocoa Beach offshore powerboat races will be returning for its 16th year on Florida’s Space Coast, scheduled for May 15-18, 2025. Join us for 4 days and nights of parties and lots of racing action. The Space Coast Super Boat Grand Prix is one of the most popular attractions for the whole family in Central Florida. The event, one of the largest in Central Florida, draws the top race teams in the World to compete in various classes with Class 1 reaching speeds over 175 mph.
