About Billy D
Billy Davis, originally from Iowa and now a resident of Melbourne, Florida, studied at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music under renowned saxophonists Dr. Eugene Rousseau and Dr. David Baker. His career has included performances as an opening act for artists like Eric Burdon, Jim Hall, and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. He has played with jazz greats including Ernie Watts, Eddie Daniels, and Bob Mintzer.
After years of teaching and performing across the country, Davis has been a staple in the local jazz scene since moving to Florida in 2012. In the fall of 2024, he was inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has been a guest artist for the Space Coast Jazz Society.
